This summer holidays I read a book called My family and other animals, by Gerald Durrell, and I'm going to talk about it.
The book tells the story of the Durrell family: Gerry, who tells the story, his mother, his 2 brothers, Larry and Leslie, and his sister, Margo.
They live in Bournemouth, in England, but they don't like the English weather, so they decide to move to the island of Corfu, in Greece.
When they arrive, they make a lot of friends there, but a lot of things happens, because Gerry, the smallest of the family, love animals, so he wants to keep all that he founds (dogs, a turtle, scorpions, an owl, two ravens, one seagull, snakes... and a lot of animals more) so this creates the havoc in the house and for everyone around him.
The writer is Gerald Durrell.
Gerald Durrell was a British writer. He was born in India in 1925 and he lived in different countries during his life.He died in 1995.
His children's experiences in the Greek island of Corfu were the argument of one of his most important books, My family and other animals, written in 1956, and two more books of the same trilogy.
I like this book, because it's easy to read and the story is entertaining and pleasant. I recommend this book to all the people ho wants to read in this English Level.
